Teenage life among French Black girls may not be what you imagine. In this film we get snapshots of life among four high-school drop-outs, with special focus on Marieme and her home life. She tries to care for her two younger sisters and avoid her violent bullying older brother. It’s hard for her to do that and live her own life as well. It’s fun to see how the girls love each other’s company and enjoy themselves. Yet they aren’t adverse to beating up rivals in arena-like settings. Caution: don’t expect much plot, but enjoy Marieme’s development of herself.
