Mad Cow’s Rating:
This is the best kind of comedy – one that evokes many laughs but also has a solid plot and something to think about. Disa is a 40-something slightly plump woman whose husband has left her for a younger svelte woman. Always rather shy and diffident, she becomes more so, plodding on to do her night work as a practical nurse and take care of her children during the day. Everyone has advice and criticism for her, with an answer for every problem – do this, do that, don’t be so….Knowing that she needs a change, she seeks answers on her own. Of course the answer is something like be yourself, but you will be surprised by what that means here. No cliches, no easy solutions. Perfect.
